KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A busy drug house on Lawrence Street just off North Westnedge in Kalamazoo was raided by Public safety and the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team Thursday.
As officers were knocking on the front door, four suspects were bailing out the back door, where other officers were waiting and quickly rounded them up.
The officers were acting on tips from neighbors who noticed an unusual amount of traffic coming in and out of the residence on the short street.
Detectives found two of the suspects carrying large amounts of heroin and crack and significant wads of cash. A 25-year-old was booked into the County Jail on multiple drug counts. A 15-year-old was handed over to his parents and will face prosecution in the Juvenile Court.
While investigators were searching the home, several suspects came to the home looking for drugs, and walked away disappointed.
