KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Athletic Director at Western Michigan University has announced that she will retire after 42 years at the university, including 25 years in her current role. Kathy Beauregard is currently the nation’s longest-serving athletic director at a single school and says she will be calling it a career at the end of this year. She announced the decision on Monday.
Beauregard is currently one of nine female athletic directors among the nation’s 130 F-B-S schools. She is a Kalamazoo native and Loy Norrix High School graduate who began her career at WMU as the Broncos’ women’s gymnastics coach in 1979.
