SPRINGFIELD, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that one man has died following a crash Monday in Springfield.
Around 10 a.m., deputies were called to the scene at North 30th and Sixth Avenue.
The department says a 42-year-old man from Battle Creek was traveling north on Sixth Avenue and was struck by an eastbound vehicle, which was driven by a 70-year-old Battle Creek man.
Police say the 70-year-old did not stop at the stop sign, causing the northbound vehicle to overturn.
Both occupants had minor injuries, but the driver of the eastbound vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries. Both were transported to Bronson Battle Creek.
As of 4 p.m., police say the 70-year-old man has died from his injuries.
No names have been released at this time while the crash remains under investigation.
