DALLAS (WKZO-AM)– One of the more interesting souvenirs the WMU Football Team will bring back from Dallas, win or lose is a sculpture of a bucking bronco made entirely of rubber tires.
It is the “Goodyear Cotton Bowl” after all and the tire company commissioned artist Blake McFarland who works in the rubber arts to turn tires into the mascots of the two teams.
The bucking bronco and Bucky the Badger each stand over 6-feet tall, weigh over 500 lbs. and took about 500 tires to make, according to Goodyear.
They will be used as centerpieces at various Cotton Bowl Events this weekend and then contributed to the two schools.
