LANSING (WKZO-AM) — It’s not a popular move with big labor in Michigan but Governor Snyder has appointed former House Speaker Jace Bolger to the Civil Service Board, the panel inside state government that deals with employee pay and hiring policies.
Bolger, a former Republican House Representative from Marshall, who now lives in Grand Rapids, voted for right to work, and has made it clear in the past that he thinks state workers make too much.
Union officials are critical of the nomination for that reason, calling it a partisan appointment.
Bolger will have to keep his day job as a Public Policy Consultant, because the post does not come with a paycheck.
