OTSEGO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Michigan health officials are asking residents with wells in the Otsego area to have their water tested for PFAS contamination. It’s part of ongoing efforts by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services after PFAS were first discovered in the area in 2018.
A virtual meeting was held Wednesday to talk about the effect the forever chemicals have had on the Otsego community, tied to the city’s landfills and paper mills. The MDHHS says officials have been collecting samples from residential wells since September.
