SPRINGFIELD, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A 30-year-old Battle Creek man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office reported he allegedly threatened his girl friend with a knife and took her vehicle.
Deputies were dispatched to the area of Dickman Road and 20th Street at about 4:00 p.m. on a report of domestic violence and carjacking.
The Sheriff’s Department says the suspect assaulted the 32-year-old woman from Battle Creek as the couple were driving to work.
He also produced a knife and threatened her with it, then took her vehicle.
The vehicle was recovered later in the 200 block of West Manchester in Battle Creek. He was located in the 100 block of West Manchester.
The victim did not require medical attention. The suspect was lodged at the Calhoun County Jail and is pending charges for this incident.
