EAST LANSING, MI — Michigan State University is mourning the death of former MSU president John DiBiaggio at the age of 87. University officials announced yesterday that DiBiaggio died last Friday.
He was the 17th president of MSU and served in the role from 1985 to 1992, leaving after asking for a long-term contract and receiving just a one-year extension.
DiBiaggio was president of the University of Connecticut from 1979 to 1985 and held the same position at Tufts University from 1992 to 2001.
