LANSING, MI — The winning ticket in Wednesday night’s $70 million Powerball jackpot was sold in Michigan.
Some lucky player’s ticket matched all of the winning numbers – 14-47-54-55-68 – and the Powerball 25. According to lottery officials, the winning ticket was sold by the Huron Plaza Party Store in Pontiac.
Wednesday’s big win marks the fifth time a Michigan player has won the Powerball jackpot since the state began offering the game in 2010, according to officials with the Michigan Lottery. The last Michigan player to win the Powerball jackpot was Phillip Chippewa, of Suttons Bay. He won an $80 Powerball jackpot from the Sept. 21, 2019 drawing.
The latest winner can contact the Lottery’s Public Relations Division in Lansing at 517-373-1237 to set up an appointment to claim their prize. That person may choose to accept their prize as a 30-year annuity for the full amount of the jackpot or a one-time lump sum payment of about $50 million.
