KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police are working to identify a body found on a beach in St. Joseph, possibly matching a woman reported to be missing from Chicago.
The body belonging to an asian woman in her 50’s who was discovered along the shoreline of Tiscornia Beach in St. Joseph around 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 19th.
An autopsy was conducted the next day at Western Michigan University’s Stryker School of Medicine, and police are saying that indentification will be released once it is determined forensically.
Authorities told reporters at WNDU-TV in Indiana that the body could be a woman who went missing near Chicago, but it has not been confirmed as a forensic investigation continues.
The St. Joseph Public Safety Department is handling the investigation.
