MIDLAND, MI (WTVB) – Receding floodwaters are making it easier to get a better idea of the damage left behind after two dams failed in central Michigan.
Thousands were evacuated in Midland County this week when the Sanford and Edenville dams were breached after heavy rains, led to historic flooding.
Photos on social media clearly show the devastation in the flood’s aftermath. Some local officals are calling it a 500-year flood.
President Trump has approved Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s request for emergency aid.
