ISLE ROYALE MI (WKZO AM/FM) – An iconic national park in Michigan may not see as many visitors this year as in the past.
Isle Royale National Park’s opening has been postponed due to the pandemic, and officials there say that while camping may eventually open up, getting to the island will be more difficult, as the ferry service will not operate this season.
Those who wish to visit the park will have to get there in their own boat, or by seaplane.
Park authorities say that there was no way to make the ferry service safe for visitors. In addition, Rock Harbor Lodge will remain closed.
