LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan has reinstated 140 thousand unemployment claims that were considered for possible fraud.
A stop payment action was placed on approximately 340,000 claims that state officials say showed signs of possible fraudulent behavior, and claimants were asked for more information.
Verification of the information provided allowed the 140,000 cases to once again receive benefits, while the investigation will continue on the other cases.
