DEARBORN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Gas prices in Michigan are down 6 cents compared to a week ago. Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $2.20 per gallon for regular unleaded.
This price is 10 cents more than this time last month, but still 65 cents less than this time last year.
Motorists are paying an average of $33 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline; a discount of $11 from when prices were their highest last July.
According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), total domestic gasoline supplies decreased by 3.1 million bbl last week, bringing the current level to 248.5 million bbl. Last week, demand for gasoline fell slightly from 8.77 million b/d to 8.65 million b/d.
“If demand trends lower as gasoline supplies tighten, drivers in Michigan could see prices hold steady through the week,” AAA spokesperson Adrienne Woodland said.
