GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) — Grand Haven Department of Public Safety officials announced they’ve recovered the body of 14-year-old Jovanny Arroyo of Grand Rapids.
He disappeared into Lake Michigan Sunday, during rough-surf conditions.
Divers found his body near the Grand Haven State Park South Pier just before 11:45 a.m. Tuesday.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family,” the GHDPS statement read, noting the recovery effort included mutual aid from
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department; Michigan State Police; Zeeland Township Fire / Rescue; Grand Haven State Park personnel; Muskegon County Marine Patrol; Kent County Dive Team; North Ottawa Community Hospital Paramedics and Grand Haven Township Fire / Rescue.
