FORT GRATIOT TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Married for 62 years, a Port Huron man took a job at a nursing home to be allowed to see his wife.
Larry and Carol Burnett became separated for four months because of COVID-19 and restrictions on visitation at nursing homes where Carol has lived for two years.
For the past two years, Carol has lived at Regency on the Lake, a care home in Fort Gratiot Township near Port Huron.
He has been there for 12-hours a day and seven-days a week and says he will keep at it even after the pandemic ends.
