HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The Holland Area Arts Council is planing an opening reception for an upcoming exhibition, “Seeing Through Dutch Eyes,” featuring the work of Dutch-American artist Chris Stoffel Overvoorde.
Born in the Netherlands to Dutch parents, Stoffel grew up with the sounds of the shipyard. His Grandpa and uncles were ship-carpenters. and Stoffel worked from the age pf 14 in a large shipyard as a metalworker and later as a diesel-mechanic.
The exhibit will open with a reception from 6 to 8 Friday night January 11 with light snacks and refreshments. The exhibit runs through February 25 at the Holland Area Arts Council building, 150 East Eighth St. in Holland.
