GENESEE COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — A resourceful six-year-old girl with tech skills from Mt. Morris, Michigan is being credited with saving her step-mom, and perhaps herself by posting pictures on Facebook using a cell phone last Thursday.
A grandparent in Tennessee pulled up the pictures Friday that showed his lifeless father and the woman in their Michigan home and that prompted an emergency call to police officials in Genesee County to do a welfare check.
The home is located in the small town just north of Flint.
It’s believed the couple had overdosed.
Police found her 40-year-old father dead, the family dog gnawing on his body.
Her step-mom was barely alive, and was hospitalized in critical condition.
The child is in the custody of her biological mom.
