BLOOMINGDALE TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — The driver involved in a collision with a horse and buggy in Van Buren County in early September has now been charged with a moving violation causing serious impairment.
Van Buren County accident investigators say that 60-year-old Samuel Rawson of Grand Junction was driving a 1996 Ford Econoline 150, strayed over the centerline on 46th St. at County Road 388 and hit the horse head on, killing the animal on impact and tossing the buggy driver to the pavement.
The 67-year-old from Bloomingdale was admitted in serious condition, with multiple injuries.
