KENTWOOD (WKZO AM/FM) — The shooting death of a teenager from Kentwood was apparently the result of a dope deal gone bad.
The cousin of 17-year-old murder victim James King says the senior at East Kentwood High got into the back seat of his killer’s car to transact a marijuana sale.
They apparently intended to rob him at gunpoint and when he would not cooperate and began to get out of the car, one of the suspects shot him in the head.
King’s mother, Toshia Williams says her son was close to graduation and planning to go to community college. She wants justice.
King’s cousin claims he was able to tell police the names of some of the suspects, and at least one of them, a 17-year-old junior at East Kentwood High, is being held on robbery and obstruction charges.
