OTTAWA COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) — After a two-month investigation Ottawa County Sheriff’s detectives have identified four suspects in a string of home invasions and larcenies from vehicles reported from the Georgetown Township and Hudsonville areas.
Several thousand dollars worth of items were taken from vehicles and garages, mostly during the overnight hours, according to police reports.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Bennett said in an email these incidents were reported between November, 2018, and January, 2019.
A witness who identified one of the suspects involved helped detectives with the case; from there, they were able to link three other suspects.
Stolen property has been recovered and returned to theft victims, Bennett said.
The four suspects range in age from 17 to 18 years old, and are area residents. Each is free and awaiting multiple felony charges related to this investigation. They will not be identified until arraigned.
Police believe the suspects are involved in close to 100 thefts, and that some of those thefts were unreported.
