ATHENS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — It’s a local case of Breaking Bad, if true. Criminal charges continue to pile up against a former Athens Area Schools science teacher who allegedly diversified his criminal behavior to not only include molesting a student but stealing property.
30-year-old Tyler Millward has just been charged with embezzlement from a non-profit for allegedly stealing lab materials and baseball equipment from the school district and reselling it on Ebay and other online sites. He is also charged with a computer crime.
Among the stolen items were beakers, chemistry equipment and a replica of a human skeleton.
Millward already faces multiple criminal conduct counts in two counties for a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student, who became pregnant and recently gave birth.
Detectives didn’t have to go far to find Millward. He is currently serving 60-days in jail for a domestic violence complaint filed by his wife.
