SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN (WKZO AM/FM) — Another Winter Weather Advisory kicks in Tuesday afternoon, but this time it’s not bitter cold that is the concern.
It’s for temperatures at the other end of the freeze-thaw cycle.
Forecasters say that higher temperatures around the freezing mark will be mixed with 3 inches of precipitation that could fall as snow, freezing rain, or sleet, any one of which could turn into a sheet of ice when it hits the frozen ground and road surfaces.
The advisory runs from 1 p.m.Tuesday to 1 a.m. Wednesday, and could make the afternoon commute hazardous.
This impacts most of West and Southwest Michigan including Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Clinton, Allegan, Barry, Eaton, Ingham, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun, and Jackson counties.
