HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) – Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a suspect in the non-fatal stabblling of a 46-year-old Holland man that happened at 702 Butternut Drive Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019.
Holland Township resident Shaun Ryan Kleinjans, 23, has been arraigned on charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, and as a fourth-degree habitual offender. He remains in Ottawa County Jail on $250,000 cash bond, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Bennett.
According to Sgt. Christy Wendt, police investigators found that Kleinjans and the victim knew one another and were fighting over property when the stabbing occurred. The victim, whose name is being withheld, was treated at Holland Hospital and released.
The type of weapon used in the stabbing has not yet been made public.
