EMMETT TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Three teens are injured, one critically after they crashed into a semi in Calhoun County’s Emmett Township.
It happened around 7:00 a.m. Wednesday on East Columbia Avenue at Inn Road.
The three Harper Creek High schoolers were on their way to class when the 16-year-old driver lost control on the slick pavement, slid over the centerline and into the path of the tractor-trailer rig.
The driver and his 17-year-old passenger in the front seat received minor injuries.
The 14-year-old sister of the driver in the back seat was critically injured and had to be removed from the wreckage by rescue crews and rushed to the hospital.
No names have been released.
