BENTON HARBOR (WKZO AM/FM) — A Benton Harbor man is being held for open murder and disturbing the peace after he allegedly killed his roommate and then left the body in the house for most of the week.
60-year-old Jerry Lee Osler reportedly told police that they were arguing over money 4 or 5 days before, which ended when he stabbed 57-year-old Sylvester Booth.
Benton Harbor Public Safety Officers were dispatched about 1:20 Saturday morning to the home the two men shared on Lake Street and found the body in the basement with an apparent stab wound to the chest.
An autopsy was conducted this weekend.
