BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) -Two members of an alleged child pornography ring have cut a deal with prosecutors in Calhoun County, rather than answer to a jury for other crimes.
33-year-old Talia Furman was scheduled to go on trial Tuesday, but instead agreed to plead no-contest to first degree criminal sexual conduct involving sex with infants.
In exchange a number of other charges of CSC, child abuse and a drug count were dropped.
Her boyfriend, Matthew Toole of Coldwater, had already entered a similar plea to two counts of CSC.
The minimum sentence will be 25-years, the maximum could be life when they are sentenced.
The pair still face possible prosecution in Branch County for allegedly conspiring to kidnap, torture and kill a young child, a crime they allegedly planned with others, but never executed.
Tracking the individuals who were in contact with this couple has led to the arrest of several other members of the child pornography ring.
