LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — State Tourism officials have launched their Pure Michigan summer ad campaign nationally as they try to entice folks making vacation plans to spend some time in Michigan.
A total of $9.8-million dollars will be spent running ads through early June on 15 national cable channels, network broadcast programs in targeted markets and connected TV streaming experiences.
One of the new ads this year is called Heartbeat, featuring the Upper Peninsula. There are other custom ads promoting Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor and Traverse City, which have all kicked in extra money and will have ads featuring those areas included during the campaign.
Their research shows that the Pure Michigan campaign inspired 2.1-million trips to Michigan in 2018, generating about $2.5-billion in spending.
