BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — A stabbing suspect is on the run after an assault in the Urbandale area of Battle Creek. Detectives could use your help to find the attacker, who goes by the street name “G”.
They say a 34-year-old white male was approached by the suspect in the first block of Kellogg Street at about 4:30 Wednesday afternoon, and after a short conversation, the suspect pulled a knife and initiated a fight.
A neighbor saw them struggling on the ground and fired a warning shot from a gun into the ground to break it up.
The suspect fled south.
The victim was taken to the hospital to get stitched up for an abdomen wound that was not life threatening, and the neighbor is being investigated for recklessly discharging a firearm.
he suspect known as “G” is black in his late 30’s, about 5’6” with a stocky build. He was wearing a dark hoodie and dark acid washed jeans.
