SCHOOLCRAFT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Following a bomb threat at Schoolcraft High School Tuesday afternoon, police have announced that no explosive devices were located in the building.
That’s according to Superintendent Rick Frens, who released a letter to the community after the investigation.
Frens wrote that the campus main office received a phone call around 3:30 p.m. claiming that a bomb had been placed inside the facility, which was immediately evacuated.
“As of this evening, law enforcement has swept the entire building and did not find any bombs on campus,” Frens wrote. “Police from multiple agencies are actively investigating the threat and do not believe our students, staff, or school community are under any danger for school to continue tomorrow, Wednesday, September 15th. We appreciate the swift response, communication, and care our local law enforcement and fire department demonstrated with this incident.”
Since this event may have been distressing to some, Frens adds that the SCS Crisis Team met following this incident and will be available to support students and staff during school on Wednesday, September 15.
Meanwhile, police continue to investigate the call itself.
