UPDATE: The 16-year-old Georgetown boy has died from drowning, according to an email sent just before midnight on March 28, 2019, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Rick Sykes.
OTTAWA COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 16-year-old Georgetown Township boy was rescued from a pool and rushed to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Bob Ruster.
Sheriff’s deputies and Georgetown Township firefighers responded to the call for help from the 4300 blcok of Port Sheldon at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2019, he said.
They found the teen face down in a backyard above-ground pool and not breathing. First responders started CPR and advanced life support.
He is listed in critical condition. Family members of the victim were in the home at the time of the drowning, Ruster said, and the investigation Ottawa County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating.
