CALHOUN COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — A Michigan State Police K-9 and his handler joined the Battle Creek Special Investigations Unit to intercept a motorist after they got a tip that heroin and fentanyl was being delivered to the city.
They were able to locate the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop on I-94 at about 5pm Tuesday.
K-9 Solo sniffed around and found four ounces of heroin laced with fentanyl, which they claim has a street value of $12,500.
The driver, a female from Battle Creek was booked into the Calhoun County Jail on a charge of possession with intent to deliver, late yesterday afternoon.
She could be formally charged today.
The investigation has been turned over to the Southwest Enforcement Team.
