GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO AM/FM) — A female school custodian in Grand Rapids faces possible prison time for lying to police.
Tiara Burnett, has cut a deal with prosecutors for perjuring herself during the investigation Quinn James, who she was dating at the time.
James has subsequently been convicted and sentenced to life without parole for the rape and murder of 16-year-old Mujay Dumbuya and then dumping her body in a wooded area near the West Douglas Neighborhood in Kalamazoo.
Burnett agreed to plead guilty to perjury and in exchange, two charges of witness intimidation have been dropped.
She will be sentenced in early June.
