BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A former Athens High School teacher who impregnated a 16-year-old student has been given 7 to 20 years in prison.
Tyler Milward was sentenced for criminal sexual conduct, lying to police officers and a computer crime. He carried on a long term relationship with the teenager, who told the court yesterday that he was a bad man who needed help.
Milward apologized, but the Judge was not impressed with his expression of remorse.
Milward will get credit for six months served. He will have to register in the state’s Sex Offender Registry when he gets out of prison.
