MATTAWAN (WKZO AM/FM) — The Michigan Humane Society says it’s taken possession of the beagles that were being used for animal testing at Charles River in Mattawan. They were part of a yearlong study to determine the effects of a fungicide on mammals.
A member of the Humane Society got a job there and made tapes that exposed the testing, which created a furor and prompted Corteva Agriscience to cancel the contract.
The Humane Society says they will release them for adoption once they are evaluated, but announced no timetable.
