GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO AM/FM) — Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Grand Rapids Mayor Rosalynn Bliss joined 4000 other runners, walkers and women from across Michigan for the 2019 Gazelle Girl All Women’s 5K, 10k and half-marathon Sunday.
The event was created to celebrate Title Nine, the federal action that outlawed discrimination between men’s and women’s educational and athletic programs.
It’s also a fundraiser for women’s charities in Grand Rapids.
The event began before the snow started to fall in Grand Rapids Sunday morning but it was still cold.
