PAW PAW (WKZO AM/FM) — A Van Buren County woman who tortured her 3-year-old Stepdaughter to death has been given 31 to 50 years in prison, after she pled guilty to second degree murder and first degree child abuse.
31-year-old Kate George had bound little Sophia Ernst-Kucsera to a car seat using cords and placed socks in her mouth and duct-taped it shut, and failed to give the child water or food for at least 24-hours.
The little girl had smothered hours before 9-1-1 was finally called.
The child’s father, Corey Kucsera said the girl had been disruptive and that’s why they tied her up. He will be sentenced separately on the 29th.
