OTTAWA COUNTY (WHTC_AM/FM) — Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested three more people in connection with the shooting death of 14-year-old Troy “T.J.” Wells Jr. on Feb. 16, 2019, at the Hampton Inn in Holland Township.
Earlier, police arrested Holland resident Juan Sandro Cabrera, 18, and charged him with Wells’ murder.
On Friday, April 19, 2019, police arrested Cabrera’s mother, Sarah Yolanda Cintron, 32; her boyfriend, Juan Martin Trevino Jr., 22, of Holland; and Cabrera’s stepmother, Christina Marie Cabrera, 37, of Holland Twp. Her husband, and Juan Sandro Cabrera’s father, Juan Pablo Cabrera, is also in Ottawa County Jail on a charge of lying to police related to this case with a cash bond of $250,000.
Each is charged with being an accessory after the fact, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and fines up to $5,000. Cintron and Christina Cabrera were also each charged with lying to a peace officer in felony investigation, punishable by up to four years in prison and fines up to $5,000.
The three arrested on Friday were each denied bond and remain in Ottawa County Jail, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Bennett.
Detectives believe the three had assisted Cabrera after the fact and lied to police during the investigation.
