BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – An accidental cooking fire led the evacuation of several apartments at Arbor Pointe Townhomes late Saturday night.
The Battle Creek Fire Department says they were dispatched to 277 Arbor Pointe Drive at 11:20 p.m.. The first crews on the scene found heavy, dark smoke coming from the doorway of the first floor apartment.
While the fire which started on a stove was being put out, people from all adjacent structures that were connected to the apartment where the fire was taking place were evacuated.
There was heavy fire damage in the kitchen area and smoke throughout the apartment. No injuries were reported.
