KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Metro SWAT was called out Saturday afternoon to help Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers arrest an armed suspect who allegedly robbed a homeowner in the city’s southside neighborhood.
Sgt. Charles Mason says the victim told them the suspect forced his way into his home in the 1800-block of State Street and robbed him at gunpoint.
Officers were able to track the suspect to a home in the 1200 block of Cameron in the Edison Neighborhood, and knowing he was armed, requested that the SWAT Team help them execute the warrant.
They found the suspect inside and recovered the gun they say was used in the robbery.
He was booked into the Kalamazoo County Jail for home invasion and multiple gun felonies.
