ALBION, MI (WTVB) – Two Albion pharmacists who were accused of turning a hometown drug store into a regional pill mill, have agreed to a plea bargain with federal prosecutors.
John Shed and Terry Tooley face up to five years in prison for conspiracy to dispense controlled substances from Park’s Drug Store.
Federal authorities accused the two of dispensing opioids at rates that were among the highest in the state,
U.S. Attorney Andrew Birge says they have also agreed to pay $500,000 to the health care plans they defrauded and $1.2-millon in back taxes.
They also have to give up their pharmacy licenses.
