WEST MICHIGAN (WHTC-AM/FM) — The National Weather Service has issued a severe-weather alert that a line of scattered thundstorms will be moving through the Lakeshore area, at about 30 mph this morning, Thursday, May 30, 2019. (See our photo gallery of the clouds: http://bit.ly/2Wg2Y9y.)
The alert applies to Allegan, Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Clinton, Barry, Eaton, Ingham, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun, and Jackson counties.
Meteorologists say the main threat from these storms will be cloud to ground lightning strikes, locally heavy downpours and perhaps some small hail.
