DEARBORN, MI (WTVB) – Gas prices are holding steady with Michigan’s average starting the week at $2.90 a gallon, identical to last week.
AAA Michigan says the average is down a dime a gallon from this time last year.
AAA Traffic Safety Specialist Gary Bubar says they were expecting prices to go higher as the summer driving season got underway.
He says they don’t expect gas prices to go above $3 a gallon through the summer now that demand has been stabilized and supplies have been straightened around.
But obviously all that could change if there is a hiccup at a refinery, severe weather, or changes in the Middle East.
