HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 45-year-old Holland Township man was rescued after he suffered a medical event while fishing at a Waverly Shores Village pond at 120th Avenue and Riley Street in Holland Township, just before 10:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Dill says credit goes to a fast-moving passerby — a 57-year-old Zeeland man driving on 120th Avenue saw the man fall and ran to the man, holding his head above water until deputies arrived — helping them pull the man to shore. The ill man was rushed by AMR ambulance to Holland Hospital and is expected to fully recover.
