SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) –South Haven’s “Light up the Lake” fireworks show is in danger of cancellation due to high lake water levels.
The city says if there are northwest winds, waves will be pushed over the pier, and it cannot safely set up the fireworks mortars and electrical system in that case.
Officials have until Tuesday, July 2 to make the final decision on whether or not to host the event.
If canceled, people can attend nearby St. Joesph’s fireworks show, and the city will possibly host a smaller show on Labor Day or Blueberry Fest.
