HOLLAND (WTHC-AM/FM) — A man was killed in a single-vehcle crash Tuesday evening, according to Allegan County Sheriff’s Sgt. Morgan Sullivan.
Witnesses told police a westbound vehicle on 108th Avenue in Cheshire Township crossed the center line and went into a ditch, striking several trees, near 38th Street, on the south side of the road.
The vehicle stopped approximately 40 feet off the road. No one else was in the vehicle. There was no braking throughout the incident, police said.
The crash remains under investigation. The victim, described only as a white man in his 70s, won’t be identified until after his next-of-kin is notified.
Bloomingdale firefighters and Life EMS assisted at the scene.
