THREE RIVERS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A 1-year-old girl is dead after she was found in her family’s pool in Three Rivers on the 4th of July.
Michigan State Police were called to the home on Tim Avenue near Lovers Lane Thursday after the parents said their two youngest daughters snuck out of house and into the pool.
The 1-year-old and 2-year-old were pulled from the water and family members performed CPR on the youngest until she was rushed to a nearby hospital where she later died. The 2-year-old is doing fine and is with the family.
The drowning occurred at a licensed daycare home but only the homeowner’s children were there at the time.
Police and Child Protective Services are investigating the incident. No names have been released at this time.
