HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 25-year-old Hamilton man, Travis Jay Parker, is in Ottawa County’s jail, awaiting charged related to a home invasion of a Lake Michigan Drive home late Tuesday, July 2, 2019.
Police were alerted just after midnight on July 3, by the homeowner, who had received an alert from the home’s security sytem. The homeowner was able to access video survillence via his phone, and saw an intruder was in the residence. The victim then alerted the suspect that he was being watched. That suspect fled the scene before police were alerted. The victim was out of town for the Independence Day holiday.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene and checked the residence and confirmed that the suspect had fled. It does not appears as though anything was stolen at this time.
The victim also posted the video of the suspect on Facebook. Sheriff’s detectives received several calls and tips that led investigators to the suspect. On Friday July 5, Travis Jay Parker was located on US31 near Chicago Dr in Holland Twp and taken into custody. Parker was lodged at the Ottawa County Jail for Home Invasion and he will appear in Court at a later date. This incident remains under investigation.
