HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 59-year-old Portage man was hospitalized Tuesday, July 9, 2019, after a pick-up truck hit his 2016 Kawasaki motorcycle.
It happened just after 10:15 p.m., in Wright Township, on westbound I-96, according to Ottawa CountySheriff’s Sgt. Rick Sykes.
A 60-year-old Muskegon man, at the wheel of a 2019 Ford truck hit the motorcycle so hard the Portage man was thrown into the freeway median. The motorcyclist had been wearing a helmet, and was taken by LIFE EMS to Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids. The pick-up driver, who had been wearing a seatbelt, was treated at the scene and released. This crash remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
