PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Portage is set to present the Career Exploration Showcase for those looking to enter or re-enter the workforce.
The free event takes place Thursday, September 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Celery Flats Historical Area.
Job seekers will get the chance to meet with more than twelve local companies to explore job opportunities, learn what skills are most needed in today’s job market, and discuss the companies’ interview and hiring processes.
Organizers say that as expanded unemployment programs expired on September 4, the timing of this event is perfect.
The City of Portage will host this community connection event with the help of Schupan Recycling, Fresh Perspectives Home Care, Mann Hummel, Lake Effect, and Greenleaf Hospitality.
